Analysis of Temperature Distribution in Grinding of Composites Using Finite Element Method

ثبت نشده
چکیده

In this investigation, experiments were carried out to understand the influence of various grinding parameters like wheel speed, workspeed and depth of cut on the grinding temperature at the surface of the Al-SiCP composite workpiece with different grinding wheels. The temperature distribution within the workpiece was studied by simulating the grinding process and using finite element analysis package with transient thermal analysis. Specific energy as the input, the temperature distribution for dry grinding condition and with coolant were analysed. The wheel loading was quantified by conventional methods. The temperature at the surface is much lower for composite materials than steel. The influence of various grinding parameters on the surface temperature are marginal. Eventhough partition ratio is lower for diamond, but the temperature developed at the surface is more for diamond compared with other wheels. The affinity to wheel loading is more for diamond wheels than other wheels. The CBN shows better results than other wheels. The influence of coolant is significant.

Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis of Thermoelastic Stresses of FGM Rotating Disk Considering Temperature-Dependency of Material Properties

In the present paper, nonlinear radial and hoop thermoelastic stresses analysis of a disk made of FGMs material is investigated. According to this purpose, finite element method is used. In the present method, second-order one-dimensional element (with three node points) is proposed. The geometrical and stress boundary conditions are defined in the state of non-existence of external pressure an...

The Finite Element Thermal Analysis of Grinding Processes by Adina

Most grinding problems cannot be solved analytically, therefore extensive numerical solutions are required by using appropriate numerical techniques such as the finite element method (FEM). In this study, the well-known finite element software, ADINA, was used to predict the phase transformation of a workpiece subjected to surface grinding. The process was considered to be two-dimensional and t...

Stress Distribution in Four Restorative Methods in Endodontically Treated Maxillary Premolar: A 3D Finite Element Analysis

Introduction: the Restoration of endodontically treated teeth is critical, and the Awareness of stresses developed by oblique and vertical forces in restorative methods take a great role in treatment plans. Due to the anatomical shape and inherent form of the stress distribution premolars, could be lost by fractures. Some fractures such as vertical fracture which is probable in...
